Boat compasses
Surely one of the most useful tools in navigation, the nautical compass formed by a needle indicates the position of magnetic north allowing us, through the correction of the reading using the deviation tables and calculating the interference of the magnetic field on board, the exact position of the boat on a nautical chart. There are various models on the market both as a graduated rose size and with mounting systems. For motor boats, flat fixing compasses are widely used, which are flush mounted on a dashboard, and those with brackets, as well as those equipped with a binnacle since they reduce the vibrations that the boat undergoes. For sailboats, wall and bulkhead mounting compasses are often used. We also have portable compasses with soft carcass and with lanyard to carry it around the neck. The bearing compasses, which are also very small to be used with one hand, allow you to calculate the position of the boat by referring to another object, such as another vessel or a lighthouse.
